The color of Malory's eyes are a bit hard to define. They are such a soft color that it isn't hard to imagine the bearer a gentle and kind person. Mal has hardly ever been called an "open book"; she has far too much practiced control over the structure of her facial expressions, but its quite difficult to control the emotions swimming in one's eyes, the mirror to your inner-self. So if you are a good reader, you'll be able to guess Mal's feelings through her eyes, the never lying orbs. The actual color of these beautiful eyes are again, not as clear. They are a real pretty color, a mixture of sorts of blue and green, creating a soft color. I guess it depends on the way the light hits her eyes whether you see more green or a blueish tint. Malory is very observant, which says something about her eyes. She has also found she is better at reading people's faces than most people, especially her friends and family, which is ironic since she is constantly trying to hide her emotions.° h a i r //
Malory's hair as a simple beauty to it. Though the color certainly isn't outstanding - she sometimes imagines herself with blond hair or the different shade of red or strawberry - it has a healty glow which makes it pretty. The color is very dark, not as dark as her friend Nashi's, but the darker end of brown without touching the shades of black. Naturally the color lightens a bit in the summer, the way a dark horse's coat will fade when out in the sun. Malory might not be overly excited about the color of her long tresses, but she certainly doesn't complain about its easy upkeep. Her hair is naturally smooth and somewhat straight, and has a silky feeling to touch without the need of expensive hair supplies - which is good since Malory has never been interested in investing the amount of time other girls, like Nashi, spend on styling their hair. She is fine with a longer length, reaching about to the upper middle section of her back, and long layers. Her hair is the type that doesn't frizz easily, and will curl a bit when air-dryed, giving her hair gentle waves. As stated, Malory isn't interested in spending hours on her hair so you'll most likely either see her with her hair down, up in a pony tail or some other simple do.° f r a m e //
Malory is a tiny girl with a petite figure. Though she is on the tall side, she is thin looking and seems almost breakable. She has that helpless look to her, mostly because of her pale skin and the absence of any visible form of strenght. Its true she isn't the strongest of people, she keeps in shape by running and riding horses but muscle doesn't seem to form readily. Of course, this just makes her seem even smaller. Her limbs are skinny, comparable to twigs, and her joints have almost sharp points to them. Never the less, despite her wan complexion, she wouldn't be considered sickly or ghostly looking. She does have an accidental beauty to her, her angular structure and soft looking skin, which seems to include her flaws - puzzle-like joints, helpless, weak look - as well.° s t y l e //
As with her hair, Malory simply has no desire to dress herself up in expensive clothing or the current fashionable trend. She tends to stay with a natural, plain look, with clothing, hair and make-up. She is usually seen in jeans, though they vary from plain blue jeans to skinny jeans - Nashi must have rubbed off on her. Malory would be quite content to wear t-shirts, she likes the band t-shirts and horse t-shirts look, but she'll also wear nice looking shirts and short-sleeves - rarely blouses or skirts. Mal also finds sweatshirts quite appealing, and comfortable, and she'll often wear some sort of light jacket over a shirt. As for foot-wear, its rare to see her in anything other than tennis shoes, or boots when at the stables, you can expect flip-flops in the summer.
personality:
° s i l e n t //
Malory defiantly isn't one to start right off with the talking. Once upon a time she was much more outgoing and easy to get to know, and while bits and pieces of these still appear, coming to the surface more and more as you get to know her, for now 'breaking the ice' is as literate as it could get. Everyone gets shaped and formed by the events that happen to and around them, and some certainly effect them more than others. It is common knowledge that Malory's mother died, something that was especially a low blow to her, but at least she still has her father, the strongest figure in her life. Even so, something so huge is expected to leave its mark and Malory certainly presents this. Malory sort of wraps herself up, hestiating to reach out to others, especially strangers that walk into her life, though she really does like meeting people. However, her hesitance is reveled as a reserved facade, which means she hardly speaks and when she does its in a low, soft voice. Don't get me wrong, she isn't shy; Malory is actually a confident girl, which makes her seem a bit cold and icey when she is interacting with people she doesn't know, as she processes who are possible friends and who she should keep her distance from.° h u m o r //
Believe it or not, but Malory is actually pretty funny. You can get an idea of her humor from side comments she makes in a saracastic voice, her tone very lone and under the breath. She loves to laugh - nobody can be totally serious and reserved all the time. Of course, she is usually with her friends when she is free-hearted. Her laugh is a beautiful sound, a soft tinkling of sorts that is easily the real deal without the whole hearty, can't breath thing going on. Malory loves a good joke and doesn't mind delivering them; she finds its easier to get to know someone when they are passing such humor filled comments.° o t h e r //
All the rest of Malory's personality summed up here. Well, for her flaws, Malory is the type of person with a quick temper. You'll know when something sets her off, though she very quiet about dealing with her anger (the anger managment's dream). The most obvious signs are the tightening of the face, her tensed body, narrowed cold eyes and perhaps a crumbled forehead will tip you off. Malory, being her usual silent self, will say even less when she is angry but her voice gets very harsh and somewhat shrill when she does talk. You'll know if you've done something very wrong if she actually starts to talk to you, or even worse, yell. Another thing, Malory has been trying to fix it but she sometimes as a loose mouth in terms of curse words slipping when she gets frustrated or upset. Again, its the under the breat muttering but she usually isn't aware when such words flow out; she has been trying to stop. That last thing we'll talk about it her artistic side. While Nashi has the careful eye to small details by being a photographer, Malory focuses on the other end. She sketches, draws, sometimes paints, and her subjects are almost always animals. She is pretty talented actually, not that she would ever let anyone look at her sketch book willingly.
history:
father;;
Mr. Neal O'Connor // musican
mother;;
Mrs. Lucy O'Connor // deceased° p a r e n t s //
Lucy and Neal were alike in the sense that they love music, but thats where the similarities ended. Lucy was shorter, curvy with dark looks and straight brown hair while Neal was tall and lanky with locks of curly, blonde hair. He was laid-back, clumsy and messy while she was right on schedule, neat, and graceful. He liked faster, head-beating music, she liked slower classical-like songs. It seems odd that they would fall for each other, but I suppose its true what they say; opposites attract. Though they were hardly attracted when they first met, which involved Neal running into her and Lucy snapping an annoyed statement. Of course, since they were in the same university, both studying music, they kept running into each other until he finally asked her out and surprisingly, Lucy agreed. Their first date was hardly perfect, espeically when one of the two was so clumsy. Somehow, however, they feel for each other and got married.° b i r t h //
After being married two years, Lucy gave birth to a little girl, whom they named Malory. Like any other baby, Mal was small with rosey cheeks with bright blue eyes which eventually faded to a hazel color, and her head was already sprouting strands of dark hair. Malory was a loud baby, maybe louder than most, which is ironic as now she has a more quiet personality. Anyway, the O'Connors where constantly being awoken in the middle of the night, and though they loved their little girl, it was pretty annoying. This, along with the fact they needed more time to devote to their jobs, made up their minds that Malory would be an only child.° c h i l d h o o d / p r e t e e n //
Malory was born in Virginia but when she was around ten or so the small family of three packed their bags and moved to New Jersey. She attended public school (being muscians her parent's didn't always have much extra cash laying around), where she slipped into her shy self and wasn't able to make any friends at first. Her parent's surprised her by signing her up for riding lessons at a local stable called Cheny Falls. There she met Nashi, a girl she recongized from school, and found out the other girl was as shy as she was. Naturally, however, they bonded since they both had an interest in riding and Nashi became Mal's first friend, and best friend, at her new home. After that, other friends followed, including two boys named Caleb and Trevor, who rode at the Cheny Falls and were in some of their classes at school. Then came the day that was both memorible and horrible, when Malory was just 12 years old, Lucy died. It was unexpected, and of course, tragic.° t e e n a g e r //
Despite losing her mother, Malory continued riding with a new determination. Her mom had left her with a little money and an idea began to form in her head. She began to work at the stables and taking on a few baby-sitting jobs and by the time she was 14 Mal had enough money, with a little help from her father, to buy an inexpensive horse. After looking at a couple possible horses, she settled on a flashy five-year old paint mare named Taste of Honey. The name was both encouraging, honey was so gentle and warm sounding, but the mare was very sweet and Mal felt an instant attraction. The two showed a bit, along with Nashi, Caleb and Trevor of course, and Honey was a wonderful jumper despite what some said about paints. Then came Mal's sixteenth birthday, which brought more than just a driver lincense. Her father, along with the help of Mal's retired grandparents, had arranged for her to move to a newer stable, along with Honey. Even though her friend, Nashi, seemed happy, Malory could tell she was upset about something. So of course when Nashi reveled she was sad about Mal leaving, she insisted that they try to presuade Nashi's parents to let her go to. It was easier than she thought and before she knew it Nashi was not only going, with her new horse Tay, but Mal heard that Caleb and Trevor were going along with their favorite instructor, Jude, who would be teaching dressage at the new school. How much better could it get?
