apperance:
Being the daughter of a former model and a rather tall man, Jane was expected to have a similar height and she didn't disappoint. Although she hasn't reached the height of her parents, she is a bit taller than most her age. She is relieved that she has seemed to be at a halt in her growing; yes being on the tall side was nice but she didn't want to overtake her friends. Jane has a slender body with curves in just the right places. Having a model as a mother, its expected that the conversation of looks and such come up often in the household. So, as result of quite a few fitness classes in her years (requested by her mother of course), Jane has a pretty well toned body. The skin of her stomach and limbs are firm, though most of it may be because of her horse riding. Snack and junk food is usually absent from their house, though anyone could have a secret stash.
Jane has a round face and forehead that is a little on the large side. She has a small nose, set inbetween two round eyes, brown in color. The color of her eyes has always been a complaint with her mother, who is a blonde with blue eyes. Though Jane will usually just wave her mother off, trying to turn to a different topic. She had nothing against her eye color, they were fine, and it isn't like they could change it. Though thankfully her mother is kept at bay by being pleased with her pretty facial features, thankfully usually clear skin, and her hair. Though not blonde, but again brown, Heather has long given up trying to get her daughter to dye her mob. Though Jane refuses to color her hair, she does allow her mother to give her a few styling tips. She'll use the shampoo and conditiner Heather buys, and will spend time spraying and curling her hair, getting rid of any frizz and bring out the gentle waves that she already has. Jane has gotten quite good at this routine, and is very pleased with the outcome.
Any mother loves outfitting her daughter in nice clothes, though Jane must admitt that her mother brings this up to a whole new level. She is constantly recieving items such as designer clothes, dresses, make-up. Though grateful that her mother would go to so much trouble for her, Jane would much rather wear the stuff she chooses out. She likes taking trips to the mall with her friends, hitting all the stores that have the latest fashions, but never going too over the top. As for the make-up, Jane will use some of it but shys away from bold colors like blue, and instead sticks with the skins tones and light pinks. She doesn't want to look like a clown, does she?
personality:
Living with parents who have money and having a noteable social status in the various schools she has attended, its no surprise that Jane is usually quite confident. She is very outgoing and doesn't shy away from situations that could make one nervous or uncomfortable. She isn't afraid to be bit wild at times, though this usually happens when she has friends by her side. Sometimes this confidence appears as rudness when someone first crosses paths with Jane as she tends to speak with a slightly clipped, somewhat hard tone in these situations. She doesn't do this to be mean but Jane doesn't like acting all cummy and pretending likes she is best friends with a person she hardly knows. Don't worry, she'll warm up after you get to know her, and you'll find she can be the sweetest person if you decide to go for her friendship.
Even though Jane rides and enjoys spending time with her horse, she does have interests in the other side of life. If you didn't know how much she loved horses, you would quickly label Jane as a girly girl, which is true. She does thake a lot of interest in fashion and takes a lot of care of what she'll put on. She also spends time fixing her hair, as her mother taught her, and her makeup. Even if she is just going to the barn, she'll set her hair in a careful pony-tail or bun and apply a slight layer of cover-up or fondation if needed.
history:
Jane was the first and only child born to Craig and Heather Duvall. She was born the daughter of a successful novelist and a former model, so money was always plentiful in the household. Naturally her parent's often brought home gifts to the girl when she was growing up, even reaching the borderline of spoiling her. Life for young Jane was easy; both her parent's were home very often so there was no need for nannies (thank god), and since Heather had retired from her modeling, her mother was almost always home. Jane enjoyed her mother's presence, but there were always the arranged play-dates with kids of Heather's friends, most of which were quite snotty and spoiled and Jane usually resented such visits. But then again, she got lucky during one of these play-dates and soon made her best friend, Paige Pierce, at the young age of six.
The two were lucky enough to go to the same school from pre-school all the way up to high-school, or the two years of high school they took before enrolling in Maple Ridge. Even then, they would be going together. The two did almost everything together, including the various activities that their mothers urged them to do. They did cheerleading, dancing, ballet, even a beauty pagnet, all of which they quickly turned down. Jane and Paige did please their mothers with frequent shopping trips, and the two girls choose a hobby that their mothers were less than happy about. Paige and Jane discovered horse riding together and Jacob and Kyle, their boyfriends at the time who are now friends, followed suite.
Jane's parent's had mixed feelings for their daughter's interest in horse riding. Her father, Craig, agreed without hesitantion, defending it by claiming it was good exercise and great responsibility. Heather protested, steadily using the ''but its dangerous!'' argument whenever the topic arose. Paige was lucky enough not to have similar problems but Jane soon won with a two against one vote. Though surprisingly it was her mother who was for Jane getting her own horse later on and her father was against the idea. Jane quickly found her love of combined training but western also appealed to her, so she mixed her lessons. Jane never showed in western, but she did with her other descipines, even going to a few three-day events.
It was during the summer after freshman year that Jane finally got her parent's to buy her a horse. Her mother was with Jane this time since she was a loyal viewer of Jane's lessons and shows and saw herself how much her daughter loved horses and how good she rode. Craig, on the other hand, was a bit hesitant, thinking that Jane would give it up eventually and they would be left with a horse. He gave in, the Duvall women were great at arguing. So Jane, after searching, decided on a young Quarter Horse that was already being kept at her stable. Battle Cry, or Solider or even Ted (as in Teddy Bear), was pretty calm for his age but could still get up and go. Jane feel in love, claiming he was just the right mixture of calm and spook for her. She has had Solider for a while now and has successfully persuaded her parents to buy her another horse, a warmblood mare named Sweet Dreams.

short description:
Solider's height is pretty average, a safe middle ground that isn't tall, wonderful for those smaller riders, but he isn't small either. He is about the height that would work for about anybody. He has a Quarter Horse's typical conformation; broad forehead, muscular neck, wide and deep chest, with powerful shoulders and hindquarters with hard feet. He is suitable with almost any descipline, though Jane has never ridden him through a reining test but he, like any of his breed, has the power for that quick yet fast run that they are famous for. His color might be plain to some, those people who perfer the contrast between black and white markings, palominos or the beautiful roans, but Jane just loves his chestnut coloring. She believes it is a bold color, deep red and his mane and tail fall into place in a silky curtain that is well looked after. Solider has no white markings, his red shade smooth and unwavering throughout his body.
short temperment:
Solider is usually a pretty reliable horse. He would much rather work with his rider than fight, maybe just to save energy, though if you spend time with him you'll tell he is heading toward being a "one-person horse". He is a bit spoiled in the sense of treats; Jane showers him in apples, mints, cookies, etc. (though he isn't a fan of carrots). Solider goes straight for the pockets when you come in the field, or in his stall (sometimes even reaching over the door to give you a nudge). But isn't it every girl's job to spoil her horse? He is usually really calm and good about getting right down to work in the arena and doesn't get out of control on the trails/cross-country course, though he may prance a bit. The odd thing about Solider is that he isn't very social with other horses. You have to watch who he gets turned out with because isn't good about making "horse buddies", usually only having one or two (one at the moment is Paige's horse). In the arena other riders have to keep their distance; Solider likes his space and isn't afraid to show, or defend, it.
