Rachel had always been a beauty, and she has always stood out. Well, it is expected when you not only have a brilliant mane of startling red hair but that hair also waves down in ringlets. People have always told Rachel that she should be happy with her hair, that it was beautiful and it was a color that a lot of people wanted. But what person, especially as a teenager, didn't want what they didn't have. It is human nature. When she was younger, Rachel would spend hours standing in front of the mirror either trying to sculpt the curls into something managable or straighten it with the flat iron. As for the color, Rachel had gone through a stage where she pestered her parents about dying it; they never gave in. As she grew older, Rachel began to apperciate her hair. She had to admitt that her green eyes went very well with the shade of red, and her creamy skin didn't look out of place. Of course, she had to deal with those freckles. Thankfully, they were secluded only to her cheeks and nose. Today, they are just a faint scattering of barely noticable flecks.
Rachel hardly looks like the mother of teenagers. Of course, she was but a teenager at 19 when she had her first daughter, but still she has always been a bit younger than the parents of her children's friend's parents. She has no complaints though. What every woman wants is to look young. It helps that Rachel is fit. Her slightly short frame has some curves, but over all it is pretty toned with a healthy layer of fat covering her bones. Her legs are well sculpted as are her arms; her horse training and riding is to thank for her fitness. Rachel's face as always been soft, with no angular edges. With full lips, she looks sweet and gentle, which she is. Her face looks even softer with the waves and curls of her red hair. As mentioned, Rachel has pale, creamy skin that doesn't tan easily. The red-head curse or blessing, depending on how you felt about it.
p e r s o n a l i t y ;;
You know that Rosalie had to get her independence from someone. While her father is a good canidate, so is Rachel. Even as a young girl, Rachel hated to have to relay on someone else to get things done. It was just easier to do it herself the way she wanted it done, get it all wrapped up and finished the first time. Though, she has no problem at all with helping other people. But just like Rosalie, you have to work hard to get her to actually accept assistance.
To be a successful riding instructor, besides having the experience, you must be supportive of your students. Rachel tries to lend a helping hand when ever she can. She may hate accepting help, but she certianly is quick to hand it out herself. Some people are just hard to understand. But Rachel is more than willing to agree to extra, one on one instruction with any of her students. Patience is also a good quality to have. You can't go off on a yelling spree whenever someone makes you upset, now can you. Rachel usually has a pretty good hold on her anger; years of practice with two daughters. But of course, that isn't to say that she doesn't get mad. She is human and we are programmed to get angry and upset. You'll know when she is angry with you because her eyes will narrow and her voice will get very low and harsh sounding. She never yells though - she is that type of person that everyone hates who says "I'm disapointed..."

Well, Rachel's childhood was as normal as they come. She was the daughter of business owner and a mother that never felt the need to work. The Becketts were well to do, in the upper middle class. Needless to say, Rachel was never deprived of the material items she wanted. She had one other sibling, a sister named Madeline who was three years younger but had the exact same red hair, exact shade of green eyes as her older sister. The sisters got along as most do; they fought, argued but Rachel was always willing to give her little sister advice on boys, clothes and they always had each others back when they needed support against their parents. Basically, you could call it a love hate relationship, but then again there are few sibling relationships that vary much from that setting. Rachel and Madeline endured private Chatholic school with each other and went horse riding together. It is pretty obvious who got more out of the riding lessons; Rachel was pretty determined to compete in higher levels of combined eventing while Madeline eventually lost interest.
When she was 18, Rachel traveled out of state for collage. It was out there, in the middle of ranching lands, that Rachel ventured to a rodeo and fell in love. She met a young reiner, a man who was 5 years older than her, and was instantly smitten. Tyler Walker was quite fond of the red-haired beauty as well, and she liked him enough to travel to Nevada to his ranch and eventually married him, less than a year later. Their relationship started quick and they would soon find that it ended quick as well. Tyler became a sort of mentor to his new wife, insisting that she improve her western skills and take part in round-ups and such. She agreed, jumping into it all with enthuasim, but still kept up her english riding with persistance. She ignored the jeers from ranchers and even the skeptical looks from her husband whenever she pulled out the jumping saddle - she must admit it looked odd for someone to be practicing dressage in the middle of cow country, but she could care less.
At the young age of 19, Rachel had her first child. The little girl dubbed Rosalie was as blond and blue eyed as her father, but her hair curled into tight ringlets just like her mother. Surprisingly Rachel found bliss in her early motherhood, she glowed with happiness at the thought of her beloved family. About 2 years later, Rachel gave birth a second time. Once again to a blue eyed blond girl, whos hair was straighter than her sister's but still wavy. Both Heleena and Rosalie showed that their parent's love for horses surfaced in their offspring. Both were on horse-back as soon as they could walk, if not sooner. They both even recived their own pinto pony, the pinto twins as they were called on the ranch. Heleena's first pony of her own was named Lily and Rosie's was named Hugo. The family was quite happy, though Rachel and Tyler's marriage became strained.
The two got in a pretty big fight, which included raised voices and some hurtful words. Anyway, Rachel packed her bags and she and her two daughters moved back to Virginia, where Rachel's family lived. She got a job as a horse trainer at a breeding farm, where she co-worked with the husband of her deceased best friend. By the time the divorce was finalized, Rachel had a new problem on her hands. Rosalie was a now a teenager and wasted no time lashing out at her mother. Rachel knew that teenage angst was normal and that a daughter and mother's realtionship often became strained during this time; the same thing had happened between herself and her mother and she had watched as Madeline followed suite. But this was different, it seemed like full-blown hatred. For two years, Rachel tried to make amends or at least keep the fights as few as possible. Then she saw her chance for a connection and she took it.
It is a sad thing when you grow out of your childhood pony, so Rachel tried to soften the transition a bit by buying a beauty. Why she decided on a Gypsy Vanner, she didn't really know. But it worked, and Rosalie seemed to actually make an effort to meet her mother half-way. Sure, things weren't completely fixed, but it was Rose who took the next step forward by asking for her mothers help with her newest mounts. Currently, Rachel has moved across the state in search of a new job and an equestrian center. Since she is the temporary guardian of her best friend's on, Jacob Dawson, she now has three teenagers in tow.
