Mary Alice Kennedy is the second child of Holly and Will, and their only girl. She was born in Orlando, Flordia just two and a half years after Ty. So, Holly and Will's love story was nothing spectacular. He was popular in school, a legend in high school sports. Holly was literally the girl next door who was quiet, nice, polite and invisible. But she gorgeous in a accidental, doesn't even know it kind of way that most people didn't notice because she hung back. Obviously, she wasn't totally invisible to Will. Being neighbors, they were kind of friends that talked every once in a while. Anyway, after Nicole, Will's sister, went to Germany for a few years to study, he started talking more with Holly since he noticed Nicole's absence more than he thought he would.
Eventually, they started going out and soon enough they were married and expecting their first child. Ty and Nicole's son, Edward, were just months apart. Then Alice was born. Alice was like a miny Holly, with her wavy blond-brown hair and short, slender figure. When Alice was young, her grandmother, whom she called Gram, and her grandfather moved to Virginia to buy a small horse farm. Alice was completely fascinated, but her parents weren't interested in horses. Still, Alice would help out her grandparents with the beautiful creatures whenever they went to visit. She learned to ride on her Gram's Tennessee Walker gelding, a large black horse named Shaker.
When Alice was nine, the Kennedy family finally moved up to Virginia to live closer to Will's parents since his father was battling cancer. Even though their move was based on horrible circumstances, Alice took this chance to really learn to ride. She came so attached to the horses that when her grandfather passed she was reluctant to leave again, worried her parents would want to move back to Florida. She like it here, she liked being around her Grandma and honestly, she hadn't had a huge amount of friends back home so she was hoping she could start over here. Thankfully, her parents had no more desire to move back than she. So, Alice got to stay with the horses.
Her first horse was Shining, and the Thoroughbred had been born of one of her Gram's mares, so the horse had been hers since is was practically a foal. She got her two other horses later, at a selling out auction at a former breeding and training stable. All the horses were cheap, and two had instantly caught her eye. So, Alice bought Prince, the elegant and massive colt and the smaller Pirate, who was blind, came with him.
