Logan considers himself to be the average "joe" and would never explain his appearence to be any better than normal. It is true he wouldn't exactly pass as a run-away model, but Logan's self image doesn't do himself justice. Woman see him as handsome and when he was younger, all his parent's friends would coo over him, "oh, what an adorable darling" they would say, "good-looking like his father". Logan has a narrow face, what one might describe as slightly oval shaped. His chin isn't sharp but he has a strong looking jaw line and noticable cheekbones. His face is put together with plump but not too full limps and a slightly too large for his face nose. His eyes aren't something you notice at first, that role is claimed by his ever present smile, but when you do notice them you'll see his eyes are pretty, but the color is nothing special. They are a dark hazel, just like his mom, almost brown.
Now, on to the mass of hair that sits upon his head. Very much like Ashleigh, Logan is the sort with darker features, the hair and eyes, and has skin that is healthy looking - as in, not sickly pale but not 'surfs up' beach tan. A nice in between that burns if he isn't careful then lightens into a tan. Anyway, back to his hair. It is brown, traditional brown, that is dark but noticably not black. He wears it just long enough to be considered shaggy and long enough that it is noticable when he doesn't brush his hair. Now, Logan never lets his hair go dirty, he is repulsed by greasy hair, but he doesn't really care about combing it or styling it. Sure, when he has to dress nice he'll fix his hair, but otherwise Logan walks around with ruffled hair.
height and weight ;;
Even when not considering that his mom is a former jockey, Logan is a pretty tall man. Well, not tall, tall but just slightly taller than average. He is around six feet, maybe an inch over, he isn't exactly sure. Needless to say, he makes Ashleigh look like a midget. Logan isn't exactly sure where he got his height; he certainly is taller than all of the women in his family, but he also looks down at his father. Okay, only by like two or three inches, but the difference is noticable when you stand the two next to each other. A lot of his parent's friends, who are also in the Thoroughbred business I might add, sometimes tssk when they notice his height, exclaiming it is just a shame that Logan couldn't become a jockey like his dear mother. Of course, Logan never dares to point out that he never wanted to be a jockey in the first place - he is much too polite.
As for his weight, well on a shorter person his weight would look perfectly normal, but as it were he looks rather thin for his height, even lanky. Rest assured, he does not have an eating disorder and he is prefectly healthy. He is even a bit toned from riding, but he wouldn't look like one of those gum goers body builder type of guys. He has enough muscle to look attractive with his shirt off, not that he walks around shirtless.
__B E H I N D t h e f a c eWell, to start off, Logan is a pretty soft-spoken, quiet guy. He isn't one to demand someone's attention; actually, he finds loud and obnixous behavior, well, very annoying. You can imagine you won't likely find Logan in a dance club. No, he is more of the reading in a coffee cafe or spending time with the horses type. Some people write him off as shy. He isn't. Just because he doesn't jump around and rush up to meet people, making sure all focus is on him, doesn't make him shy. Actually, Logan can be quite talkative once he starts up a conversation with someone, though you'll notice that is voice is usually soft and low, a relaxing sort of sound, soothing even. So, to sum it up, Logan is a quiet person who likes to meet people.
Some of his best traits are his loyality and policy to be polite. He is a gentleman true to heart; well, he's very polite. Thats how his parents raised him and to be honest, being rude never appealed to him - of course, does it appeal to anyone? He isn't one to take advantage of another person. In fact, a lot of times he puts others before himself - talk about compassionate. So, moving on to loyality. The way Logan sees it, if you consider yourself someone's friend, you better act like it. Probably one of the few times he'll break his soft-spoken style, sometimes even his 'polite policy', is when he feels he needs to stick up for someone, whether it be a friend or family member. Now, I must say that Logan is not usually a violent person at all, but he has been ready to throw in a punch if he feels it is neccissary to protect someone - being the brother of two girls, Logan certainly feels as though he has to fit the mold of the protective brother, and he has had to a few times.
So, for the not so great traits, Logan is hopelessly messy. His room growing up, like any average teenager boy, had contained piles of clothes, dirty and clean, and various other objects. His organization skills currently aren't much better. About the only thing he even makes an effort to be organized is when dealing with his horses. Another thing is that sometimes Logan is too senstive to what others think of him. Yeah, he knows that you shouldn't care what others think, but sometimes you just can't help it, right? The thing is, Logan doesn't like it when people dislike him. Sure, he knows that not everybody is going to like him, but he still doesn't want to be on anyone's hate list - who does?

Ashleigh Patton and Justen Hart just possibly were made for each other. Both of them grew up in central Kentucky surrounded by the exciting world of horse racing. Both were also very involved in the sports - Justen Hart and his parents were trying to start up a breeding and training stable while Ashleigh's parents were trainers at a well known stable. The two went to the same high school, though had never really noticed each other since Justen was a grade ahead. It was the thanks to a school dance and some good friends that Ashleigh and Justen finally met and were instantly connected because of their shared interest in Thoroughbred racing. They never really thought anything about being more then friends for a while - they were content hanging out in groups, riding, comparing training stories. He cheered her on when she got her jockey liscense and she encouraged him while he trained his first horse.
It wasn't until Ashleigh was a junior and Justen was starting his last year of high school that they dared to go on a date, and from then on they were practically insepearable. They dated for two years then married young right after Ashleigh graduated high school. They became co-owners of Heart's Valley Acres after Justen's parents moved, and thus began their dream of a Thoroughbred breeding and training facility. They had good lines, great training tatics and a wonderful jockey ( none other than Ashleigh to begin with ). Their breeding program was started with Ashleigh's prized mare, Sweet Valentine, as the foundation. Everything was going great, and it only got better, after Ashleigh gave birth to a daughter, Pamela, then to a son a year later; Logan.the black sheep ;;
The Hart children were so entertwined with horse racing, their parent's being the respective trainers they were, so naturally everyone expected all three to take an interest in the sport. And it seemed as though they were. Pamela, Logan, and later Christina were all put up on horses at an early age and the whole family took an active part in the stables. Pamela even started helping to exercise some of the horses in her teenage years. Logan was encouraged to try it as well, but he surprised his parents by saying he was more interested in jumping. They were a bit disappointed sure, but supportive. They borrowed a jumper from one of Ashleigh's friends, an older sturdy warmblood. Logan hit off with Skip'Along, or Skippy, right away and he jumped right in, pun intended.the black colt ;;
Though Logan was doing very well in his eventing - he was rushing forward with surprising enthusasim - he was still expected to help with the Thoroughbreds at his parent's stables. His favorite place was the broodmare barn, where it was so tranquil you couldn't help but feel relaxed. Logan loved the long legged and awkward foals - honestly, who doesn't ?. This barn became an espeically happy place after a tiny black colt was born, one that was bold and strong even as a foal. Though he couldn't explain why, Logan became attached to the colt. Even Ashleigh and Justen, busy as they were, noticed the connection. Logan daydreamed about training Storm, as the foal was called around the barn, to be an eventer but was hesitant to tell his parents - Storm was the foal on a racing farm, so he knew he would be trained to race.
Still, he hoped, and one day when Storm was about a year or so, and Logan was sixteen, his dream slipped from his mouth. Blushing crimsom he expected his mother to gently remind him that the yearling would be trained as a racer, but she surprised him. Logan had never had his own horse, save for an old pony growing up, and besides, she had a bond with Valentine which was similar, so she agreed. So Storm became Logan's horse and when the gelding was between two and three, they started him under saddle. Logan and Storm worked slow, with the help of Skippy's real owner; Logan had never trained a horse from scratch and he didn't want to mess up. Storm's temperment was encouraging - the gelding was pretty calm for a Thoroughbred and seemed to love jumping.a sweet little girl ;;
So, Storm and Logan improved and learned together. They were actually quite a talented pair and were thundering ahead in their training, moving up levels quickly. They showed and went to events throughout Logan's high school years. The boy was a bit unsure about what to do after he graduated - his parents assured him that collage was the best idea, and of course Storm could stay at Heart's Valley. But it wasn't his graying gelding's home he was worried about, but the time. Honestly, how much time would he have to spend with Storm after he started collage? Would he have time to go on trail rides, let along show? Logan actually went through a stressful time as he worried about this. The summer before he would start collage, Pamela, gave birth to twin girls after she got married the year before, right out of high school. Logan spent a lot of time with his neices, which distracted him from his worrying thankfully.
Everything has a way of working out, somehow. It turns out Logan was needlessly worrying. He was accepted into the local collage, less then a half hour away from Heart's Valley, so he was close enough to stay home while he went to school. Which ment he saw Storm plenty - a brick off his chest. Though he did have to cut back on the showing a bit, otherwise nothing else changed much. So after a year or so of this, another horse caught Logan's eye. She was a beautiful three year old filly, very fast with excellant breeding. Charisma was so talented and quick, she should have been winning races left and right. But she wasn't. Her workout timings were at their peak, but in races she hesitated and was almost sluggish. It was Logan, who had ventured to the track one day to see Charisma's race, that put it together. It seemed really simple really - Mia was an athletic horse, but a solo performer.
Logan was drawn to the pretty little filly and made a deal with his parents. In the end, it was decided that Logan would try Charisma out in the world in eventing. Though they hit a few snags, including a period where the mare refused to go anywhere near water, the horse excelled at this new sport, especially cross-country. She was already conditioned for long gallops and jumping over logs in forests and valleys was more interesting then running in a circle - plus, no other horse was there to crowd her. It was just Charisma and Logan, a team of two. The filly was defiently harder to train than Storm, but she was most certianly performing better and seemed happier.a colt named jinx ;;
Along came Logan's senior year in collage. He was still at Heart's Valley, helping around the stables and training his two most prized equines. Ashleigh and Justen were busy - it was breeding time, which ment they were planning which stallions would be paired with which mares. Ashleigh's prized mare, Valentine, was getting on in her years and it was decided this would be her last year as a broodmare before retiring. Naturally, Logan's mom was frantic trying to decide who the best stud would be for her baby. She had it all figured out, then one night a neighbor's Arabian stallion got loose. Its the classic "stallion got loose, your mare is now in foal". Which mare was in foal to the escape artist? Of course it would have to be Valentine - Ashleigh was crushed, mostly because this would be her mare's last foal and she had had high hopes for the colt.
So, next spring, a firey chestnut colt was born. A lot of people wonder how the older mare was able to handle such a spirited, fiesty colt, but she did. And since the colt clearly couldn't race, Logan sort of found himself latching onto the little Anglo-Arabian. Named Fiasco Heartbreaker, he was as much of a black sheep amoung the Thoroughbreds as Logan was within his family. It was only fitting. His parents were more than happy to hand the colt, who they soon found was quite a trouble maker, to their son. He was nicknamed Jinx, not because Ashleigh held a grudge ( she didn't ) but because of the colt's mischevious behavior. Still, as the colt grew older Logan found he had an impeccable dressage form and was a good jumper. Still, Logan still has to put up with Jinx's antics, which he performs on a daily basis.
