woof. amy exhaled sharply as a sudden force pushed down on her stomach. she was sprawled on her bed with light coming through the window, glowing on the pale mint green of her walls and the pale cream of her carpet. her blue-gray eyes felt sticky with sleep as she woke up to investigate the object on her stomach. sitting there was a multi-colored fluff-ball, the very familar form of amy's relatively new puppy, kona the austrlian sheperd. aussie, aussie! amy almost let out an exclaim of relief as she realized it was saturday and she could spend as much time with her precious horses as she wanted. so, with this in mind, amy sat up, gently pushing kona off her bed, before rushing to the bathroom to change. she quickly exchanged the old t-shirt and sweats she slept in for a green short sleeved shirt and jeans. she brushed through her tangled mess of hair before slipping on a baseball hat.
by the time amy was outside, walking down the path to the barn, she had a rasin bagel and a coffee mug in hand. she was simply delighted that it actually felt like spring and she didn't need a jacket over her shirt. in fact, the view outside was enough to lift anyone's spirits, warm or not. the grass was again lush and green, plants were starting to emerge from the dirt and the trees were starting to bud. it was beautiful outside. the animals were enjoying the weather as well. kona was running in a frenzy, chasing bear the german sheperd and holly the great dane, three of the five dogs that lived at autumn hills. most of the horses were turned out as well, mini herds in seperate paddocks. for example, amy paused at the first pasture she came too. inside were four horses, jubilee, her sister's roan mare with the paint foal night, who was close to weaning age. then there was delilah and rosie, both round and plump with unborn foals.
amy had been over joyed when she learned her own rosie was going to be a mommy. it was unplanned, but they were all pretty sure the father was remy's gerry - somehow the two had been turned out together by mistake, whoops. but the pregnacy of delilah, parker's sixteen year old palomino, was very unexpected. it was actually funny really, parker's new stallion, camelot, had gotten loose the previous spring. double whoops. all amy could say was she hoped de's new foal would be more friendly then her only other foal, the tempermental and agressive romeo, the only equine that amy has a strong dislike for. such thoughts flew away though, as rosie ambled up demanding a rub on the neck. amy smiled, noticing how chubby her mare looked - both she and delilah were due in the uncoming month, so both were pretty large. maybe she should start planning a foal watch soon.
as she moved on from the 'broodmare' pen, amy came upon her two other horses. even though both were stallions, amy was proud to say they were sane and mellow enough to be turned out together; she even though that they would actually be sad if they were seperated. both came up when they noticed the lead rope in her hand, and amy reflected at how different the two were. spartan was ebony black, tall and lean, the traditional thoroughbred, while zanzibar was gray laced with silver, thicker and more broad, a lippizaner. both were incrediable athletes though, and so sweet. hey boys. hows it going? huh? ready for a workout today? spartan snorted a little in protest when he saw that amy was only taking zan to the barn, but then he wheeled around to lounge in the grass while amy and zan went to the barn, where he was put in the cross-ties while amy nibbled on the rest of her breakfest. ________________________

Ty Kennedy ________________________________________________________
Ty Kennedy walked down the aisle of the barn after pulling up in his old truck. He was dressed plainly so it was clear he planned to spend most of the day had the stables. His old t-shirt was gray and his jeans faded. As usual, his brown hair was shaggy and it looked like he had just gotten out of bed. Ty walked until he had reached the stretch of three stalls that belonged to his horses. Unlatching one of the dutch styled doors, Ty paced into the stall that housed his newest mount, a tall and lean graying colt. The horse, Storm Chaser, was obviously a Thoroughbred and even Ty's inexperienced eye could translate the clean lines of long legs and smooth muscle. Through unreadable brown eyes, the colt peered at the male figure as it approached him. He didn't move away as Ty pressed a hand against smooth gray neck. Honestly, Ty wasn't sure what he was going to do with the colt - he had bought him at an sell-out auction for a cheap price. Maybe Amy would know...
Speaking of Amy, here she comes, Ty recognizing her familiar figure as she walked down the aisle, leading a broad silver-gray horse. As she clipped the horse up to the cross-ties, Ty leaned over the stall door and waved. "Hey. Breakfast on the go? Yum." His green eyes slid to the half-eaten bagel and coffee mug in her hands. Just then, Storm swung his gray head over the stall door, a look of intent curiosity on his face. Of course, that probably had more to do with the other horse than the unimpressive humans. "So, have you had the pleasure of meeting my new horse yet? This is Storm Chaser." Ty said, gesturing to the lean Thoroughbred. He wondered if Amy would take an interest toward the colt since one of her most talented mounts was also a Thoroughbred. The horse backed away as Ty reached out a hand to rub his nose, the colt shook his mane in disgust and the boy shrugged, muttering, "Fine, be that way."
Letting himself out of the stall, Ty walked over to Amy and patted Zan's neck. Deciding he should probably explain where his new horse had suddenly appeared from, he turned to the girl to speak. "I got him from a sale-out auction. He was pretty cheap - obviously within my price range, which isn't much," he admitted with a chuckle. "The other buyers weren't too impressed with him. It was really an impulse reaction when I bought him. I wasn't planning on getting a new horse." He sighed, glancing back at the gray colt, still unsure what exactly to do with he horse. Looking back at Amy, he asked, "So, are you going riding? Mind giving me a few pointers over some low jumps; and I mean low." Laughing at himself and his poor at best jumping ability. Ty moved to pull his appaloosa throughbred mix mare, Cocoa, out of the stall and into the cross-ties where he proceeded to brush her flecked coat.

remy thomson !! Making the last turn into the stable's long driveway, Remy slowed her red jeep cherokee to a speed reasonable for approuching a barn. She blew a strand of yellow blonde hair out of her eyes and took a fleeting gaze out the window. Today the pastures were spotted with horses of various colors, some grazing, others galloping in circles while others were stretched out in the sun on their sides. Remy parked her car and headed straight for the barn, knowing all to well that the horse she was planning to ride first would be in his stall and not out enjoying this nice spring day with all the other horses. Why? Because Picaro was a silly trouble-maker who was fully aware of his jumping ability and felt no guilt about escaping the pasture and forcing everyone to play a "game" to recapture him. This had already happened twice, and Remy had learned that the Hungarian Warmblood could only be trusted when someone was sitting out there with him, ready to shoo him away from the fence.
Morning hours ment nothing and activity in the barn was already in motion. Remy's best friend, Amy Hall, was standing with her newest horse Zanzibar in the aisle while Ty Kennedy readied his pretty part appaloosa mare. While Amy was much closer to Ty than Remy was, the blond haired girl had had no problem making room for him as one of her good friends. So, the smile that appeared on her face was for the two of them and she paused to speak before moving on to her horse's stall. "Hey Ames, Ty. Ready for our riding party?" She said as she ran her hand down Zan's neck. Amy was lucky to have the stallion - he was so mellow it was unbelievable, plus he was gorgeous. Of course, she couldn't complain much when she had Gerry. And I guess you could add Picaro. Even if he was crazy, people always gushed had his color. He was a beauty, espeically when he was galloping with his arabic like head high in the air.
As Remy strode down to Picaro's stall, she was instantly reminded of another quality the horse had going for him. Though he is a little spitfire, the horse reached over to nudge Remy's shoulder with his soft pink nose. It was one of the few, if not only, gentle signs of affection the stallion ever did and it was all for her. Never had she once seen him show any sort of fondness to another human - in fact, he liked to play a game at times and see if he could nip people passing by. Anyway, Remy smiled as she took the nudge as a subtle sign that they were indeed growing some sort of bond and she slipped the stallion a slice of apple from her pocket. Bobbing his head and grunting in sastifaction, the stallion chewed loudly as Remy started to brush his creamy fur. She obted to leave the horse in his stall as she tacked him up since for one, the stallion did not like cross-ties, and for another, Remy honestly didn't trust the stallion around other horses when she was on foot. The blond girl quickly tacked him up then leaned over the stall door to glance in Amy and Ty's direction. "Ready?"
ooc: yay, a new nickname!! thanks chenzy

Caleb relished his chance for escape from the chaos his sisters created. No, not Camilla; Cammie was pleasant to be around, well for Caleb. But, his two oldest sister, Audrey and Cameron, had decided to pay everyone a visit and had traveled from their apartment in New York. Once the two walked through the door, the estrogen level went through the roof. Caleb's mother was simply gleaming with happiness and was in full mother-daughter bonding mode, scooping poor Camilla into the whole mess. Robert, Caleb's father, had spent enough time to visit with his two eldest daughters before disappearing out the door, claiming that he had a lot of paperwork to go through at the office. Unfortunately, escape wasn't so easy for Caleb. He had had to endure Audrey and Cameron's news of their jobs, which were some position in some fashion place, which was equivalent to a death march, or at least to Caleb. At last, his mom gave him the go-ahead and nothing could stop him from hopping in his silver Volvo and rushing to the stables.
Now, Caleb was beaming a smile of bliss. He wore a form-fitting gray shirt over the sculpture of his shoulders and chest, going simple in his blue jeans and dusty old boots. The red head, or rather auburn would be more fitting, held the reins of a bay Dutch Warmblood. Hardy was obviously used to work, all of his features defined with ripples of muscle that bunched as he moved. His smooth neck craned toward Caleb, standing patiently as his owner ran his fingers over shiny, smooth hairs and hoisted himself into the saddle. The two had been partners for nearly three years already, and it was clear they were well in-tuned with each other. Caleb steered Hardy around the outdoor arena clearly used for jumping, the fences already set up in the middle. Caleb maneuvered the bay warmblood around the fences, weaving in and out in a figure-eight, warming up. First at a walk than at a trot.
It didn't take long for Hardy to collect under Caleb, fitting into a dressage worthy frame with a slight arch to his neck. After he was satisfied Hardy was warmed up, Caleb just nudged the gelding's ribcage lightly and the horse stepped up into a canter. "Good boy, easy does it. Perfect." Hardy's black tipped ears flicked back to capture the words of his rider, snorting in response as he cantered smoothly around the arena. Caleb turned the horse into a large circle, bending Hardy's body around his inside leg with precision. Caleb finally halted his horse, giving the animal a breather as he studied the fences. Most of them were pretty low, great for warm up jumps - he didn't want to over do it now did he. His green eyes slid from fence to fence, scanning for any sort of pattern he could use without getting down to move the fences. Hm...

really, she should have known ty was here already. had she not just gone by his truck? but there he was, leaning over a stall door, waving. amy stepped forward, smiling. yep, and it's delicous. wanna bite? she held out her bagel, the unbitten side facing him. she often thought it surprised herself more than anyone how easily she and ty became friends, best friends even. and how easy it was to fit him in with her other best friend, remy. of course, amy was more surprised by the strange horse head that popped out next to ty's. it was a young gray horse, thoroughbred she discovered upon further investigation. she turned to ty, her eyebrows raised in questioning. he's beautiful, but may I ask where you got him? and more importantly, how in the world did he get a horse in here without her noticing? yes, caroline did all the paperwork, but still. I guess it said something good about the stable's business that she barely noticed a new horse.
amy listened as ty proceeded to tell all about the auction. she drank the rest of her coffee as he spoke, and shook her head when he finished, a small smile on her face. she didn't have any comment once his story was finished. amy didn't even bother to ask what exactly ty was planning to do with a young horse who was most likely trained on the track, if trained at all. he probably didn't even know yet. but of course, if he asked for her assistance, she would be happy to help. amy loved thoroughbreds, mostly because her first horse was one and he was just amazing, if she says so herself. after ty made his request, amy laughed. yeah, sure. but I'm sure you're not as bad of a jumper as you think. amy was brushing off the dust from zan's back when her other best friend, the blond and pretty remy, stepped into the barn, her voice joyful as she greeted them. hi remy! as her friends tacked up, amy just slipped a snaffle bridle on the lippizan. she was going to ride bare-back, which she loved doing.
once both ty and remy were finished tacking up their horses, amy turned zan. lets go. she led them to the outdoor jumping arena, where all of the fences were already placed from a jumping lesson the previous day. once she reached the gate and slipped inside, she noticed another rider already mounted. it was a boy one a bay warmblood; amy didn't think she had seen them around, but she couldn't help noticing that the boy was good-looking. lifting her hand in a small wave, amy said, hi. I hope you don't mind us riding in here with you .... we'll stay out of your way. the arena was very large, there was plenty of room for more than four riders. amy hopped up onto zan's back, gripping his mane as she pulled herself up. mounting bare-back was a bit harder, but amy got herself up. zan was being very paitent about it, she noticed, and amy patted his gray and silver neck as she steered him to the opposite end of the arena to warm up, making sure to keep out of the other person's way. ________________________
