People are forever saying that Annabelle looks exactly like her mother, and once upon a time she took that as the best compliment. Though it is true, and should be flattering, Bella always gets a certain glare on her face when someone mentions it now. Mary Anne, the former Mrs. Preston, was a beauty and Bella does look like a tiny version of her mother. She has her mothers brunette colored hair, an almost dark coffee color. Though she never complains about her hair color, Bella does envy the golden locks of her new step-sisters. Though if anyone were to hear this they would argue that Bella's hair is her best component. It is very pretty, with soft and gentle waves that place themselves naturally, a perfect mix between straight hair and ringlets. She usually takes a natural approuch when taking care of her hair - none of that curling agents, hair sprays or gels, blow dryers, though she will sometimes use a hair straightener, but not often. She is afraid of damaging her hair and takes really good care of it. Bella and her mother used to spend long hours playing with each other's hair and fixing it up, not caring whether it looked sloppy or not. But now, Annabelle is rather serious about taking care of her hair and wants it to look perfect, in place, and soft to touch.

Annabelle has eyes to match her dark hair. Round, and also a coffee color, they don't really stick out amoung her rounded face. Though they are framed with long, dark lashes, people tend to pay more attention to the clear skin of her face, her small nose, her soft jaw line and rounded chin, all framed by her smooth locks of dark brown hair. Bella is usually pretty light on the make-up, tending to go for the natural look like her hair. However, lately she has started to apply a bit of mascara and eye shadow, maybe trying to make her eyes stick out a bit more. The skin of her face, and the rest of her body, is naturally a darker tone (also like her mother). Bella tans easily but doesn't really bother with spending hours perfecting her shade and tan lines by sunbathing.

Annabelle is a skinny girl, though not in the "starving myself" way. She and her mother used to jog together in the mornings, even though Bella isn't a very althletic person. Mary Anne would also drag her daughter to the gym, which got Annabelle toned and thin. Bella has since stopped with the working out and though she is still as thin as ever, she is pretty out of shape and has lost that toned look. Her recent hobby of horse-back riding gives her exercise and is starting to bring a slight muscular look back to her arms and legs, and Annabelle has been thinking about joining her step-sister, Macy, on her jogs. Anyway, the last similarity between mother and daughter is that they are both short, which looks a bit odd since Bella's father and brother are tall and her new step-family is on the tall side as well.

While her brother, Wes, is a pretty predictable and easy to figure out, an open book if you will, Annabelle is a bit harder to define. On one hand she can be as sweet as her step-sisters, on the other she can be a cold, rude person. For the good side first, she is usually friendly, and though it is evident she is more comfortable around people she knows, she doesn't appear to feel awkward about meeting people. Of course, this may be a mask, but she certainly doesn't appear to be shy about introductions. Bella is also a wonderful friend once she clicks with someone or decides they are worth the trouble. She can be like any good friend; nice, understanding, loyal, secret keeper, etc. Over all, Annabelle is nice and will talk to anyone who doesn't annoy her or is nasty to her.

Of course, Annabelle has her vices. She has established a solid spot for herself along the frindges of the populars and sometimes she can be pretty self-absorbed. It isn't a constant thing, but there are times where Bella just can't quite grasp that people have other commentments. She takes it personally if someone cancels on her or declines her ideas because they have other plans, which leads to stoney stares and skrimishes. Luckily she is usually pretty forgiving, grudge holding doesn't seem to be her thing. Bella is also pretty strict about meeting times - she expects people to be where they said they would be when they said they would be. She gets annoyed when people are late, even if it is just by five minutes are so.

Mary Anne Alice was the beauty of the school, the popular girl. She was also famous for being a flirt and went through boyfriends left and right. So everyone was surprised when she started to date Richard Preston in junior year and stayed with him through her own graduation, a year after his. Even stranger was when their relationship survived their first years of collage, and even though Mary Anne was blamed for having the 'wandering eye', she stayed with Richard.

Richard Preston had been in the solid not quite popular, but upper middle class in school. He dated a bit, though never had a serious relationship since he had his sights set on medical school and despertly wanted a scholarship, so he was focused on his studies. His first true girlfriend, meaning he went out on more then a few dates with her, was of course, Mary Anne. She was a year younger then him and known to be a flirt. He should have been bothered by this, but he was sucked into the glory of first love. He was pleased beyond belief when she stayed with him after his graduation, then after hers and into collage. After she had gone through two years of collage, he proposed, and they got married. Mary Anne dropped out, but Richard continued with med school and persueing his dream of becoming a doctor.

Annabelle was born two years later. They had waited since Mary Anne hadn't been all that excited about having kids right after getting married, but she found that her little Bella was a joy. Mary Anne had never gotten a job of her own, but soon enough Richard got a wonderful job at a hospital and a rather hefty paycheck. A year after Bella was born that the couple had another baby, this time a little boy. Wesley was
