When you see Rosalie you see the blonde haired blue eyes look that is often desired by girls. Yes it's true that Rosie has beautiful hair which she adores, though she never knows just quite what to do with it all. Her masses of long hair reach a good ways past her shoulders and its natural style is to lay in waves and curls. People seem to love curls, but they never seem to realise about much trouble they can be, espeically when put together with thickly textured hair. Rosie wakes up every day on the verge of a timeless battle with her hair. It dismays her that if she lets it be, it looks like a bed mess, but if she tries to brush out the tangles and knots, a frizzy resemblance of a troll appears. It can be quite frustrating. So the girl bargins with it - using lots of conditioner and non-oily hair products along with a wide toothed comb. Though the end result isn't perfect, the now gentle ringlets look in place and are soft to touch.
In many ways, especially in her appearance, Rosalie sees her self as a "black sheep", or should we say "albino sheep" in comparison to her mother and sister. On the ranch, more than anything she had resembled her father. They had the same golden locks, the same startling blue eyes, the same lean posture and slightly tanned skin. Since moving away, she is the only blond with her redhead family and their pale skin. Not only that, but Rosie's height is like a becon. Rachel and Jen are so alike - they are both shorter and curvyer, while not chubby by any means but more filled out while Rose over here is now taller than her mother and feels like a light pole in comparison. She has always been fit and not much of an eater - don't worry, no eating disorders here. She is anglar in her appearance, which some people envy but it makes Rose feel lanky. Not only that but she has barely noticable curves - both with her body figure and her chest. She feels flat and longs for a look like her mother and sister - though her long legs - chicken legs she says - are almost perfect for wrapping around the barrel of a horse.

Right away you notice that Rosalie is a very indepent girl. With in the pas couple years, she moved across the country away from her favorite person in the world, her father, and until recently she had put the blame on her mother. So, while she was mad at her mom, her natural response was to drive a wedge between herself and the woman, pushing away from her guardian. But before this Rose had always been indepent. She likes to do things on her own and is pretty stubborn about accepting help. Rose also likes do things her own way and isn't the best with the concept of compromise. She isn't the worst either though. She does have some weird quirks that show her individuality. Like, for instance, she likes to wear her cowgirl hat from her days on the ranch when she rides, even when she is practicing dressage. She hums when she tacks up or grooms her horses.
Most people look at Rosalie and they see a girl who is "calm, cool, and collected". She always seems to be over flowing confidence and can come across as distant but polite when you first meet her, very mature, which is unsettling for some people. And when you add in her pretty looks, Rose sometimes seems intimidating. People are under the illusion that she is perfect, every hair in place, everything done correctly. This isn't her really, but Rose puts up a good front to hide how hard it is for her to branch out and make new friends. She is still figuring out how do this right. She is the sort of beauty that seems to attract boys, and with her mask Rose seems like the "hard to get" kind of girl, but really she is quite naive about the whole dating thing and really just doesn't know how to act, so she goes on autopilot and trys to avoid these situations.
Once you get to know Rosalie and break down her reserved front, reveled to you is a pretty outgoing and friendly girl. Friends have described her as spunky even. Suddenly, when she is surrounded by friends, Rosie is talkative, humorful, and very relaxed. She still appears confident, but this is the real kind, no fake covering. Another instance when Rosie opens up is when on horseback. It sounds corny, I know, but how can one not feel free sitting on the back of such a mighty creature, galloping and in the same wavelength? Rosie will often exclaim that galloping is her favorite gait because if you close your eyes, you feel weightless enough to float and fly. Cheesy, right? Maybe or maybe not. Its real for Rosie.

Any horse rider, or even non-horse riders, can be drawn to the excitment of a rodeo. Even Rachel Beckett, who was a devoted english rider, ventured to such an event at the age of 18. She came for the riding but stayed for the rider. She met a young reiner, a man who was 5 years older than her, and was instantly smitten. Tyler Walker was quite fond of the red-haired beauty as well, and she liked him enough to travel to Nevada to his ranch and eventually married him, less than a year later. Their relationship started quick and they would soon find that it ended quick as well. Tyler became a sort of mentor to his new wife, insisting that she improve her western skills and take part in round-ups and such. She agreed, jumping into it all with enthuasim, but still kept up her english riding with persistance. She ignored the jeers from ranchers and even the skeptical looks from her husband whenever she pulled out the jumping saddle - she must admit it looked odd for someone to be practicing dressage in the middle of cow country, but she could care less.
At the young age of 19, Rachel had her first child. The little girl dubbed Rosalie was as blond and blue eyed as her father, but her hair curled into tight ringlets just like her mother. Surprisingly Rachel found bliss in her early motherhood, she glowed with happiness at the thought of her beloved family. About 2 years later, Rachel gave birth a second time. Once again to a blue eyed girl, whose brilliant red hair was straighter than her sister's but still wavy. Both Jennifer and Rosalie showed that their parent's love for horses surfaced in their offspring. Both were on horse-back as soon as they could walk, if not sooner. They both even recived their own pinto pony, the pinto twins as they were called on the ranch. Jennifer's first pony of her own was named Lily and Rosie's was named Hurley. The family was quite happy, though Rachel and Tyler's marriage became strained.
Rosalie was a complete daddy's girl. She adored her father and latched on to him, forming an ever so strong relationship with the man. She shadowed him, riding side by side - him on his prized Quarter Horse mare while she trotted along on a plucky bay paint gelding. She was 11 when things went terribley wrong with her parents, and it rather confused her. She was almost a teenager, a pre-teen if you will, so already a distance was forming between her and Rachel anyway. When her mom packed their bags and loaded up, Rosie set herself up as the strong one, delivering her "I'm fine, just fine" mantra when ever someone questioned her feelings about her parent's fighting. Really she felt a protective older sibling like emotion, feeling as though she needed to be the strong constent for Jen who was younger, more naive, and on top of all of this her poor beloved pony had to be put down. Rosie also felt a burning anger for her mother.
Both girls questioned whether it was their fault the marriage ended - really, isn't that something any child in their position would ask? However, they differed in their point of blame. Jen accused Tyler, however silently, and was mad at him. Rosie, believeing she had to be loyal to her loving father, pointed fingers at Rachel, which surfaced as stony stares and cold comments which the young women quickly labeled as normal teen behavior - hadn't she felt the need to act out against her own parents around that age? After a year or two living at the Quarter Horse breeding stable in Virginia where Rachel worked as co-trainer with Luke Dawson, Rosie softened toward her mother, partly because she was in the middle of making a horrifying discovery. Now, at 13, she was offically a teenager and a growth spurt was starting to hit, which ment that Rosalie was out growing Hurley.
Rachel kindly suggested a new horse, explaining they could get one with more experience in the field of eventing then the pony was. Reluctantly, Rosie agreed, and she sold Hurley to a loving family close by. Thats when they bought Fairy. She was a five year old beautiful mare. Rosie swore the Gypsy Vanner mare had indeed stepped out of a fairytale, like her name suggests. She fell in love of course, attaching herself to the mare that looked so out of place with the lean Quarter Horses, but was magical all on her own. Though she had the thick body and feathered feet of a draft horse, Fairy wasn't all that tall - only about 14.3 hands - and had an impeccable ability in the dressage and jumping ring. Pleased very much with her new mount, Rosie tried to mend the cold feelings she felt toward her mother, trying to move herself a bit closer to her mom and forget her anger.
A year ago, Rosie bought her other horse, a five year old Friesian with enormous talent. Wellington was a change for Rosalie, her first true green horse and her first stallion. He is also more energetic then sweet, gentle Fairy, so Rosie has found herself reaching out even more to her mother for help with the beautiful horse. She has been working with him the past year and has yet to enter him in a show, but has high hopes after her mother announched they would be moving across state, to a equestrian center called Autumn Hills. Unlike her last move, Rosie is actually looking forward to the change.
