Its a bit hard to tell what color Caleb's eyes are from a distance. A lot of people have eyes that stick out, but his are the opposite. Of course, once you get close enough the color is very easy to define and you almost slap yourself for not being a good observer. Naturally, which his hair color what it is, it isn't strange that Caleb's eyes are a deep green. Its a very pretty color, one that you would expect a redhead to have, so Caleb certainly doesn't go against that sterotype. There is nothing outstanding about the actual color; it's a common shade of green, plain and simple. Like most others, it is the emotions that make the eyes more interesting, beauty coming to life with various feelings being expressed. Most times his eyes are soft and bright, a happy/warm color. When angry, Caleb's eyes seem to darken, and freeze over with ice-like coverings.

His hair color was mentioned before, a reddish, brown color that goes almost perfectly with his green eyes. Though Caleb always shrugs when people ask him to name the exact color, most people find that aburn discribes it very well, maybe even chestnut if you're one of those horse obssesed people. Caleb usually keeps his hair a pretty good lenght, though never too long but never a buzz cut either. Like a lot of guys, he doesn't have the paitence, or see the need, to spend a lot of time fixing his hair. The most he'll do, besides washing it of course, is to run his hand through his reddish strands. In result, his aburn hair is usually messed up or windblown, set in completely random places that actually looks good most of the time.

Not many people would describe Caleb to be a very large person. He is on the tall side, but doesn't have enough height to be considered towering or looming. He isn't all that muscular either. Sure, he has strength in his legs and arms, his shoulders are a bit on the broad side (only cause he rides a lot), and Caleb is in pretty good shape. But he still has a thin appearance to him, and the natural fittness from riding makes him look lean. Being a redhead, or aburn I suppose, Caleb doesn't tan very easily, so his skin is usually pale, sometimes he'll have a slight tan, but not often.

Though Caleb's parents are well to do and they usually encourage him to buy designer clothes, he much rather prefers the casual look. You can almost always count on him to be wearing jeans with some sort causal shirt, wether it be a simple t-shirt, a long sleeved shirt, a hoodie or even a button down shirt. What he wears to the barn doesn't differ much from what he'll wear around school or town - of course, he wears boots to the stables and he always makes sure to change clothes after getting back from the barn.

Caleb was raised by a man who valued politeness and four women who would take no rudness or rough-housing, so he is polite and gentleman-like by nature. When he first meets someone, Caleb can seem almost clipped because it takes a bit for him to relax with someone, and his accent from when he lived in London makes him seem a little intemidating. But his politeness is unwavering unless something is big enough to set him off - and he does have a bit of a temper. You'll notice he is usually pretty quiet-spoken, espeically when you first meet him. Now, more about his temper. At first it can be hard to tell when he is angry. He tends to remember his manners, or try to, even when his is mad, so he isn't the yelling type. Caleb actually locks his jaw and becomes silent, but his movements become jerky and stiff.

From the discription above, Caleb sounds like a cold person. He isn't, he just doesn't act all "cummy" with people he doesn't know or like, even if he is polite. But he is like a different person with friends. He still acts like a gentleman, but he is more relaxed and easy-going. His proper attire warms and he likes to joke around with friends and laugh. He is a generally cheerful and fun person to be around.

Caleb isn't a violent person at all normally, but that doesn't mean he isn't protective of people he cares about. He is a loyal friend, which is a good quality, and doesn't hesitate to speak up for one of his friends even if it means dropping his polite, gentleman policy. The same goes for his girlfriends. Caleb has also taken up the "protective older brother" bit with mostly Camillia, but sometimes for the rest of his family.

Robert and Linda were very traditional in terms of how they met. People frequently claim that the two were made for each other. Both were attending a boarding school in London, however both had previously lived in the United States. Linda and Robert both came from weathly families that had only one child - so the two shared the knowledge of the lonliness of growing up without siblings. They took to each other right away, even though the first time they met was when they slammed into each other on Linda's first day of school. She was the pretty new girl, a junior, and shy so everyone was interested in getting to know her simply because she was new, a mystry to unravel even if it wasn't all that exciting. Robert was no different at first, but it was pure chance that he was bump into her then walk her to her classes and eventually start to really like her. So the two became a couple and faithfully stayed together throughout the rest of high school and even surviving college without any permenant breaks. The two were lucky at how uneventful their courtship was, with no tiring drama. After college, Robert proposed and the two got married and settled down in London. Their first child was a small blonde girl, much like her mother, named Audrey. Three years later they had a brunette girl named Cameron, and finally three years after that their little aburn son was born.

Not much can be said about Caleb in his toddler stage. He was pretty average as babies go - he cried a lot, liked to play, and had to be watched when he started to crawl, then walk. The one embarressing aspect of his baby years is that, being a baby he couldn't defend himself against his two older sisters when they insisted on dressing him up like a baby doll, in girl's clothes I might add. Thankfully, when Caleb was just around a year old, the Holm family made room for another addition. Later on, Caleb wouldn't even mind that he was the only male child since he was much closer with his younger sister, Camillia, then he was with his other siblings - perhaps because they were so close in age.

The Holm family are pretty well-to-do, wealthy actually. Robert struck success in his job with a fastly expanding company, which left them room to buy a nice house, a very large house, and he provided his children and wife with pretty much whatever they asked for. Of course, it wasn't uncommon for Mr. Holm to be at work for extremely long hours, so he wasn't home much. Linda was home a lot, since she didn't have a job, but she absolutely loved dressing up nicely and heading out with her friends. Audrey and Cameron held similar interests; who knows how many hours the have spent wandering shoping centers. As for Caleb and Camillia, well they had different ideas how to spend their time. The two older siblings tended to get a bit, annoyed when their younger brother and sister tried to hang with them, so it was lucky that Caleb and his younger sister found a hobby that Audrey and Cameron found untasteful.

Robert and Linda agreed right away when their two youngest children asked to take riding lessons, though Mrs. Holm did fret silently about their safety (like and mother would). Of course, the riding instructor of Beechwood Equestrian Center assured the parents that all their horses and ponies were safe. The two jumped right in with learning the basics, then moving on to beginner eventing. It wasn't long before Caleb and his sister had found favorites of the equines at the stables, and Rober agreed to lease Hobbit, a Friesian Sport Horse, for Caleb and a cob named William for Camillia. On these horses, and a few others, the two Holm kids steadily moved upward in their riding levels. They had showed and even won a few ribbons by the time Robert and Linda annoucned they would be moving to America. Audrey and Cameron agreed, no questions asked (they had both been longing to go to collage in New York). Caleb and Camillia were a bit more hesitant, but agreed when Robert promised they would be near a stable and even mentioned buying a horse for their own.

So the family moved to Virginia and they settled quickly. Caleb and Camillia were enrolled into Cheny Falls, where they would meet their small group of friends (Jay, Nashi, Malory, even Jude). Caleb even formed a new interest. Though he loved eventing, Cheny Falls also had a small western group, which looked really new and interesting to the boy. Of course he had to try it, and though he found holding the split reins in one hand a bit confusing at first, he soon got the hang of it. Camillia tried it, though she prefered jumping and dressage.

As we already said, Cheny Falls is where Caleb met his best friend, Jay Aldridge, and Camillia met two girls who were already close, Nashi Riku and Malory O'Connor. It wasn't long before the fivesome became a close group of friends - they were all interested in the same kind of riding - eventing mostly, western a bit as well; all of them also went to the same school, though Linda was forever trying to get her kids to enroll into private school (they refused of course - honestly, who like to wear uniforms to school?). They all also had the same favorite instructor at Cheny Falls - Jude Hemmingway, who was in collage at the time. (They also took jumping lessons from his mother). When Caleb was around fourteen or so, Jude agreed to lease his own horse out to the young student. Caleb was shocked and pleased - he adored the handsome bay warmblood who was talented and well trained. He couldn't help but feel flattered that Jude trusted him with Hardy-Har-Har, and he always thought that the collage student just need someone to ride the gelding while he was in school and once he graduated, the two would continue to compete.

But no, just a year later Jude explained he was pleased by how well Caleb and Hardy got along, he offered to sell the gelding. Of course, Caleb was surprised, but Robert payed for the warmblood and Hardy became Caleb's first horse of his own. Caleb continued to train on the gelding, moving up a riding level on the horse. They got along great, and Caleb realized he had never gotten on with a horse like he did with Hardy. It was long before Camillia got her own horse, and just a year and a half later, Caleb made his next buy. He started to help a trainer who trained gaited horses, especially Spotted Saddle Horses. Caleb would exercise a few and he was shocked by the striking difference between gaited horses and regular horses. He had always known gaited horses had different paces, but he hadn't expected them to be so smooth and gliding. It was around this time that he met his next equine love, a tall and lean Spotted Saddle horse named Windfall. The mare was a palomino pinto, which of course won Malory's effections, but Caleb convinced his father to buy Windy for him. He suspected Robert felt guilty for not being home often, because the man agreed, again, without much question. Just recently, Caleb got interested in mustangs after learning the history of the Nakota horse, which was the breed of one horse belonging his friend Jay owned. He somehow discovered websites on the Spanish Mustangs and was fasinated. He made his last equine buy just before his group of friends and he moved to another stable. His new horse was a beautiful little grulla horse he called Lily; she is a three year old Spanish Mustang and Caleb is absolutely smitten with the little beauty.

Hardy is a fine example of a Dutch Warmblood. Though he might be considered short for the breed, he has long legs which are able and powerful. His head is finely molded with expressive, intelligant looking eyes. His coat is a traditional bay, with a white stripe down his face and one white leg, just a little spot above his hind hoof.
short temperment:
Hardy is a very intelligant horse who is well trained. So, the gelding knows when it is time to work and usually settles into a training session without much fuss. Hardy is a horse who knows his job and really enjoys it, and its obvious that dressage is his strong point (his previous owner, Jude, is a big dressage lover.) In the ring he preforms like a gentleman, meaning he perfers to be ridden by Caleb but doesn't protest against other riders unless he needs to be. Outside of training practices, Hardy can be a very different horse. He knows that training is when he needs to get down to business, but he also has a spunky and goofy side. For some reason, he thinks fake spooks are funny and he is quite a magaican of opening his stall door or picking stuff up in his teeth. When he is up to his trouble maker ways, people swear he looks humorful and is laughing at them, which might be the reason for his name. Hardy also has his affectionate side. It is quite clear that he likes being around people, but his favorite is obviously Caleb. He likes to give his owner a gentle nudge with his nose in greeting and sometimes gives Jude a similar hello, remembering that the man used to be his owner.

No one can argue that Windy is a flashy horse. Her coat color is beautiful, a white color with palomino patches. Her creamy mane and tail are kept long and flowing. Windy, like most Spotted Saddle Horses, looks a lot like the Tennessee Walking Horse. She is tall with a long neck and large head.
short temperment:
Windy doesn't disappoint in terms of the temperment both Spotted Saddle Horses and TWH are known to have. She is a gentle, easy to handle horse. She is easy to ride and is able to make a novice feel comfortable, espeically since she has smooth, no-bounce gaits. She is excellant on trail rides and hardly spooks (though, like any horse she has her moments when she shies). Caleb often calls her a "push-button" horse since is so easy to ride. With her gentle and sweet temperment, she is such a relaxing horse to ride. However, Windy does have a bad habbit - she likes to crib and chew on wood, so she has to wear a cribbing collar in the field and in the stall.

Lily is Caleb's little beauty. She is smally and smoothly built, looking very much like a traditional Spanish Mustang. Her back is short and her rump rounded. She has an elegant head topped with small ears and set on a slightly crested neck. Her coloring is beautiful as well. She is a grulla color, resembling a dun almost, with darker points and creamy sections in her dark mane and tail. Her face is darkly colored and there a few white hairs on her forehead.
short temperment:
Lily is known to be a very sweet horse with a gentle nature and it isn't hard to like her. She is also a very intelligent horse and her breed is known to be a "thinking horse", which makes sense when you consider that they had to provide and protect themselves in the wild. This also means she likes to do things her way and doesn't always like to go along with her rider. Also, since her breed was a feral horse, Lily has inheirted a strong sense of self-preservation, which means she is hesitant in new places until she is sure she is safe. This also means Lily spooks easily and views any knew thing as possible danger. Thankfully, she has bonded with Caleb and is very attached to him - Lily can be suspicious of strangers. Horses are herd animals, and being a mustang, Lily doesn't feel comfortable unless she is with another horse or with Caleb.
