amy didn't even notice ty walk up; she jumped slightly when he spoke, which was stupid since it was so soft. she was surprised to find herself relaxing to the sound - how strange was that? of course, friendly as ever, pegasus nickered when he saw the other human. the stallion had been so sullen right after the accident, but he had really brightened up once he was put to use again as a lesson horse. he really did love kids. also, amy tried her best to visit him often, even if he did bring up sad memories. still, she thought it was wierd of her sister caroline to avoid the gentle horse. anyway, amy realized that ty had asked her a question.
tilting her head, she looked up at him, noticing he was concerned. after the accident, it was times like these that she would offer up her fine-just-fine, then untangle herself from the situation to be by herself. the answer was already on her tounge and it rolled out of her mouth. oh, yeah. I'm fine. but she stayed put, not even shrugging out from under his hand. which was odd. since the funeral, she hadn't let a tear drop in public - she had done all of her crying at night, safely tucked into her room. no, caroline and even parker had shed enough tears without adding her own. she hadn't even allowed herself to find solace in the hug of her family members or friends - only once, actually, when parker had wrapped his arms around her small frame. her arm had still been in the brace then and it was uncomfortable, but she hadn't fought it.
sucking in a silent breath, amy knew that she could follow the pattern and excuse herself and let the subject drop. after all, she had reasoned earlier that this was her chance to make friends with someone who didn't know about the accident, who wouldn't look at her with pity. that what she wanted right? maybe not... for whatever reason, amy choose to fill ty in. why, she couldn't say. maybe she trusted him. it's just, he used to be my mom's horse. her voice was very quiet, wavering a bit, but she swallowed and continued, forcing it out. my parents were in an accident recently... she trailed off, knowing the gap was easy to fill. the ending was simple, both of her parents had been killed in a car accident.
amy had to look away from ty, trying to gain strength from the sweet face of pegasus. her eyes burned, but remained dry thankfully. she wasn't ready to break all her rules now - she refused to cry in front of anybody. a few breaths and the burning decreased. even after she had composed herself, amy didn't look back at ty. how would he react now that he knew she was damaged, emotionally at least?
ooc: wanna start a new tread soon??

Ty was watchful of Amy's reaction. He noticed that though she seemed startled by his sudden appearance beside her, she didn't make a move to get his hand off her shoulder. When she looked up at him, he gazed down at her paitently - he was defiantly taller than her, she was kinda short. Would she answer? Truthfully? He knew he had no right to expect such a response from her - just hours ago, they were strangers. One could claim that they were still strangers. But Amy didn't even seem to think before speaking. It seemed true, but Ty wasn't very confused. He couldn't tell if it was a truthful answer or more like a rehearsed line like those preformed by actors, or actresses in this case. He nodded slowly, lifting his hand off of her shoulder, but like Amy he didn't move away.
There wasn't much of a pause before Amy's small voice filled the space with words that were opposites of the ones she delivered just seconds before. He didn't say anything, just taking it in. She didn't finish her sentence, but the unspoken words weren't hard to guess. To put it plainly, he was a bit shocked. Though it made sense, if he thought about the look in her eyes, he would never had guessed that both of her parents had died, just like that. It was horrible, and his heart instantly tightened for her awful experience. Now, as she looked away, Ty wasn't sure what to say. 'I'm sorry' didn't seem right, since she had heard that line from a lot of people already. What do you saw when you learn something like that? Ty realized that no matter what he said, it probably wouldn't make her feel better. Words couldn't erase her pain.
She was quiet, very quiet, and Ty wasn't quite sure what to do next. Did he leave her to herself, or try to comfort her? He didn't have much experience in this department. Finally, though, he lifted his arms and wrapped them around Amy, loosely as if he wasn't sure if she would resist and push him away. He knew it was probably too soon to hug her, espeically after just meeting her practically, but he had a younger sister and was quite the protective older brother. For some reason, he felt the same way toward Amy for that moment, like he had to protect her. It was silly to feel that way, but he didn't move, allowing her to make the decision - he was there to hold her if she wanted, but he would willingly back off if she decided to push him away. Ty was still, expecting the latter.

amy almost shuddered as she waited for the two words that usually followed after delievering news such as this. yes, she would admitt they were words that one would normally say in this situation, ones that simply rolled off the tounge, a "no-thinker" action. which is probably she had a growing hatred to the words. the words were just a reaction, no thought or meaning needed, just spit it out. of course, if the situation had been reversed, and she had been talking to someone who had lost their parents, she would have said "I'm sorry", no questions asked. but now, it seemed as though she had heard them enough that their meaning had worn off. it was worse for her since she had actually been in the car, in the backseat, head to who knows where - did it really matter anymore? but, pushing that aside, amy welcomed the silence that followed her words.
she was composed, she really was. amy was sure she wouldn't burst out sobbing; no, she had trained herself better. if she could manage a tearless funeral, okay, mostly tearless, then she could handle this. after the inital cringing of 'oh my god, why did you tell him' had faded, amy felt relief. it was both surprising and relaxing. really, if they were going to have a stable friendship, or any kind of relationship at all, it didn't seem fair to keep such a huge secret hidden. of course, it was a secret, practically the whole town knew, but still. so really, once it was clear that ty would deliever the same line that she had heard over and over again, amy was happy she had told him. a weird thing to be happy about, but it wasn't something she could help. of course, amy had thought that once they got past the first awkward moments, they could move on, maybe go back to talking about horses - her own personal life raft.
what ty did next surprised her. she had her eyes fixed on pegasus so she hadn't seen it coming. all she knew was that suddenly, someone was grabbing her. ok, they weren't grabbing her, but ty had his arms around her and she tensed for a second, not really sure how to react. clearly, this was a hug, something she had refused and turned down ever since the accident. but now, she wasn't so sure if she want to escape his grasp, push him away. so, instead amy just relax and took a step closer, letting herself be engulfted by ty's arms, which were sturdy and strong enough to hold her. she went a step further and even tilting her head down, resting it on his shoulder and sighing, only thinking, if we weren't friends a minute ago, we are now.
ooc: um, cheesy post -shields eyes- so, I'm gonna go ahead and start the other thread. I guess this is closed.
